PT Pelindo Marine Service held the Annual Coordination Meeting 2020 in the train on the way of Surabaya-Semarang route. This creative meeting was attended by the entire Board of Directors of PT Pelindo Marine Service, PT APBS, PT PEL, PT BMC Logistics, and top level management. On the second day, Saut Gurning as the Maritime Educator of ITS and Hendrik Lim, a business transformation speaker was joint to spark discussion about expansion and transformation. The participants also visited Shipyard of PMS and PEL's Tank Storage Deli at the Port of Tanjung Emas. For the last day, they joint Port Sally Club cycling event with two routes of 14 KM and 55 KM. President Director of PMS, Eko Hariyadi Budiyanto, said that the PMS Group meeting theme 2020 is 'Synergizing The Team ', which means to synergize all group's management and the services as an intergrated solution for all clients.

Surabaya (18/2) – Ministry of Transportation appoints Indonesian State Owned Enterprises Pelindo III to provide pilotage and vessel towage services in the Malacca Strait, Phillip Strait, and Singapore Strait. The area is declared as an exceptional pilotage watershed Traffic Separation Scheme (TSS) shipping route next to neighboring countries, Malaysia and Singapore. The subsidiary of Pelindo III, Pelindo Marine Service, will start the Surabaya headquartered maritime SOE to expand its international market.

The Decree of Directorate General of Sea Transportation was handover by the Capt. Agus Arifianto to Pelindo III Engineering Director Joko Noerhudha, who was accompanied by President Director of Pelindo Marine Service, Eko Hariyadi Budiyanto, in Surabaya, Tuesday (18/2)

“At this moment, it is historical day for Pelindo III, after having some stages of performance evaluation, infrastructures, and HR. Consequently, Pelindo III is appointed to handle pilotage service in TSS. In order to keep the competition position in global market, the pilotage service in Malacca Strait have to provide service excellent, as the protection of Indonesia’s national endurance and logistics supply,” said Agus Arifianto in opening speech.

At that time, Joko Noerhudha, appreciates the strategic performance of Directorate General of Marine Transportation, Ministry of Transportation, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that has succeed to strengthen Indonesia’s territory and build up the national income on maritime industry. “By having The Decree of Directorate General of Sea Transportation, Pelindo III by the hand of Pelindo Marine Service, as State Owned Enterprises, becomes more reliable and secure to handle Indonesian pilotage and vessel towage services for international ships in Malacca Strait and surroundings,” he stated.

 “Pelindo III urges all the subsidiaries to expand their business out of captive market. In addition, they have to invent by providing added value to global customers. It becomes big advantages of international expansion,” said Joko Noerhudha.

Eko Hariyadi Budiyanti declared that the business opportunity on handling pilotage and vessel towage services in that territorial has been studied by The Littoral States. The Forum Tripartite Technical Expert Group (TTEG) was attended by Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. “The negotiation found out the clearness in Intersessional Meeting of The Working Group on Voluntary Pilotage Services in Straits of Malacca and Singapore, in Bandung, early 2007. This meeting was initiated at the 41st TTEG Forum, in Yogyakarta,” he said and also attended TTEG Forum.

Furthermore, it affirms the Indonesian Government’s commitment to handle the national maritime sector expansion. Ministry of Transportation awarded that chance to State Owned Enterprises, especially Pelindo III that has the subsidiary on marine service, PMS, that has handled pilotage service in Malacca Strait for recent years.

 “It becomes hard competition. There are some pilotage or marine advisory that has been handled by Malaysia and Singapore. In reality, 60 percent of the territory is owned by Republic Indonesia. It becomes the challenge for international maritime community that Indonesia is able to manage Malacca Strait. The pilotage and marine advisory services that has been handled by Pelindo Marine Service, are the initial work planning of Indonesian Government to expand vessel traffic information system (in the Malacca Strait),” he said.

The maritime educator of ITS Surabaya, Saut Gurning, also attended the event. According Straitrep (2019), at the period time of 2009-2019, there were almost 60.000-85.000 vessels that pass through Malacca Strait for a year. “There were only 300 vessels that has been handled by Indonesia. It should be around 2.000-3.000 unit. It would be successful strategic for handling service on huge vessels, for instance VLCC (very large crude carrier/tanker),” he stated. 

In addition, the amount of 60,000-85,000 ship units per year, showed that the economic value of pilotage service reached Rp 45 trillion. The total derivation value could be Rp 360 trillion. In fact, Indonesia did not aware that they handle the service in the most eastbound area (Indonesia territory), Sumatra-Natuna areas.

“Currently, the realisation value is almost 80 thousand vessels, estimated 70% is handled by Singapore, because they have a port. The Indonesia interport have to be expanded, for instance Kuala Tanjung. If we only handle hinterland segment  (proponent port area), the profit value is not significance. Several stakeholders, which are government, SOEs, private companies have to cooperate for gaining the potential sector in Malacca Strait,” he said.

Pelindo III Group held a mass circumcision for 300 kids in three cities, Surabaya, Semarang, and Banjarmasin on Wednesday, 15th of January 2020. This social activity is held in celebrating the anniversary of three Subsidiaries. Those are BJTI Port (18th Anniversary), Pelindo Marine (8th Anniversary), and Terminal Teluk Lamong (6th Anniversary). For Pelindo III, celebrating by sharing to the people around is form of gratitude for all the business lines of the Subsidiaries are supported by the surrounding people and society’ said the HR Director of Pelindo III, Toto Herliyanto. ‘today there are 150 kids participated in Surabya. There are 75 people in Semarang, ang 75 kids in Banjarmasin. They perticipants also get some school aid and gift. There is also some intertainment like music and magic show during the waiting time to get circumcised.’ added him.

The medical teams for this mas circumcision are from PHC Hospital in Surabaya, Semarang, and Kalimantan. ‘Pelindo III is commited to pay more attention on social care by supporting the community around. So that we can help and support the people around on health, social, education, and economy’ said Toto Herliyanto. One of the participant’s parents, Ageng Satria delivers his gratitude and says that this event can really help their financial by saving the money for circumcision to another need such as education’. The organizer of Baitun Nisa Islamic Boarding School also says that 3 of 5 participants are orphans, so that it really helps them.

President Director Eko Hariyadi Budiyanto was invited to give an expert lecture in CEO Talk 2020 at Hang Tuah University (UHT) Surabaya, Thursday (9/1). Around 400 UHT cadets and students of the Faculty of Engineering and Marine Sciences and the Sailing Diploma Program eagerly followed the session, and many of them actively asked questions. After the lecture, the President Director and Director Denny Hermanto were signed an agreement of internship program facilitation by Pelindo Marines the UHT cadets and students. Surabaya (31/12) – The subsidiary of SOE Pelindo III, Pelindo Marines Service celebrated the 8th Anniversary in Head Office of PMS Group in Surabaya, on Tuesday (31/12). It was coincided with new year eve. This celebration was attended by Joko Noerhudha as the President Commissioner of Pelindo Marines and the other Commissioners, and Eko Hariyadi Budiyanto as the President Director of Pelindo Marines with the other Directors. In addition, it was also attended by the Directors of its subsidiaries and affiliation, and all employees of PMS Group in Port of Tanjung Perak, Surabaya.

“The 8th Anniversary of Pelindo Marines was celebrated by involving various aspects, such as religious, sports, education, environment, and the fellowship between all managements and employees of PMS Group. At the age of 8th, there would be 8 special events to celebrate it.” said Eko Hariyadi Budiyanto, in midst of celebration.

In addition, he declared that the 1st aspect of religious was marked by the launched of Al-Farisi Mosque in office areas of PMS Group in Surabaya. The managements also provided Umrah worship to Mecca and Madina for 5 muslim officers and ship crews. Moreover, the Christian officer had a chance to do worship in Jerusalem. In sports, directors and employees joined table tennis competition and held bikes together ‘First Saturday Ride of 2020’. Bikes together event was also invited folding bikers community that works in port, namely Port Sally Club.

In environment sector, the employees of Pelindo Marines held Green Office Initiatives by having planting in workplaces, in the form of seeds and vertical garden. Especially, in maritime education sector, the President Director became the guest lecture for college students of Hang Tuah University, Surabaya. Last week, Pelindo Marines also handed over 6 pilotage ships miniature to be shown as diorama in Surabaya North Quay. Consequently, the visitors and passengers in Gapura Surya Nusantara Terminal, Port of Tanjung Perak Surabaya, are able to know further about the various types of ships that operates in port.

Eko Hariyadi Budiyanto declared that the amazing celebration of 8th Anniversary of Pelindo Marines, as grateful attitude towards the company achievements on 2019. The achievements were the A- corporate rating of Pefindo, Kresna 306 ship contract to support PHE WMO offshore, the accomplishment on Good Corporate Governance assessment as good predicate, and many more achievements.

“PMS Group has launched Masterplan TI 2020-2024 and new corporate culture, namely GOHI that contains the values of growth or encouraging the growth, working with optimism and happy, and also maintain high integrity. GOHI is the abbreviation of growth, optimism, happy, and integrity. This year, we has also launched new tagline, which is GOHI, Go Beyond!,” he said.
